1956 Porche 356 up for auction


ArtSpring’s Treasure Fair fundraiser is happening July 10-13. The headliner item of the auction this year is from an anonymous donor -- a Porsche 356 Speedster Replica built from the ground up based on the 1956 iconic model with a main frame chassis from a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle custom restored by Vintage Motors in California. The rest of the components are brand new. The car has only 670 km on the engine, which was recently detailed and is immaculately clean.

It has been valued at $86,000.  Over 600 donated items will give bidders plenty to consider at all price points and interests. Bucket list vacations to the Yukon, vintage furniture, artworks, lifestyle experiences, art and concert experiences, sporting and gardening equipment, jewelry, sailing trips and more have been added to the auction database.

Please register to bid at treasurefair.artspring.ca. The car can also been viewed in person Tue-Fri 10am-2pm.

Donors and registrants will be invited to the Preview Gala on Wednesday July 10 from 4pm-6pm to see an advance presentation of items in person. Bidding opens online at 6pm closing Saturday 6pm.

1941 Dodge 3 Ton Truck

The truck was bought in Calgary just before we moved to SSI in 1999. We shipped it to the big truck shop in Abbotsford where it was fully restored, certified road safe and driven to SSI where I got the flatbed frame from a local farmer and used it for about 4 years. I then managed to burn out the emergency brake lining (ox hide!). Since then it has been in dry but unheated storage (visible in the photo) and has acquired some superficial rust mostly on the underbody. Brake and clutch linkages might need some work as will the carburetor.

This convertible is a rare one. It has the Straight 6 Dbl overhead cam Fuel injected engine. It is in pristine SHOW condition. White Upholstery, Upgraded (period correct) AM/FM USB CD radio. 153K original miles. Well maintained with recently installed Michelin Tires. The car is a personal import from the factory.
